Wellness Assistant - Westside Regional Center

Background
Westside Regional Center is a state-funded, private, non-profit agency dedicated to serving individuals with developmental disabilities in Western Los Angeles County.
Job Summary
Provide scheduling and wellness support for WRC clients and families, to access internal and external service providers, as well as administrative support to the Clinical Services Director and team members.
Reports To
Director of Clinical Services
Responsibilities
1. Coordinates the scheduling and tracking of wellness visits for WRC clients with designated WRC staff and consultants, including psychiatrists, physicians, and nurses.
2. Secures all administrative requirements necessary, prior to the appointment dates. This includes reviewing referral requests for appropriateness, preparing necessary documents for wellness visits, and communicating with the client, family, and consultants about the appointments.
3. Assists in providing wraparound services, resources, and supports to WRC clients. This includes help with follow-up appointments, referrals, and refills.
4. Works as part of a team and assists with additional departmental needs, including supporting Director of Clinical Services, Coordinator of Intake Services/Chief Psychologist, and multidisciplinary team of consultants.
5. Support the Director of Clinical Services and other WRC staff with department logistics, including answering telephone calls, maintaining staff directory and schedule, arranging meeting facilities, and supporting department staff with technology, and other office needs.
6. Maintains knowledge of and information about community health resources and referrals for WRC clients and their families and establishes relationship with these resources, when appropriate.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree with at least 2 years of administrative experience.
• Medical office/Clinical experience a plus.
• Background in working with individuals with developmental disabilities is desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to learn other applications quickly.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, capabilities, ages and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Compensation
Pay Rate: $15.52 - $17.53 per hour
(depending upon experience)
